The city of Tyrnavos has been known since ancient times for the cultivation of silkworms and vines. From the middle of the 19th century, however, it became famous for the first produced preparation under the name ouzo. The story of the leader of the Greek drinks of our national wealth began specifically in 1850 when the Katsaros family became the owner of a rakokazano. He made distillation efforts and by adding various aromatic seeds and herbs he prepared a new product. It was here that he acquired the name ouzo.
